Vehicle Description

1939 Mercury Coupe, traditionally styled custom. Chopped top, lowered, custom shaped metal flush mounted skirts, hopped up flathead, dual exhaust, runs and drives great. This California based, restyled Coupe made its debut at the Grand National Roadster show in 2018. The drivetrain is mostly stock, rebuilt, and in good working condition. 239 cu in. Flathead with an original Thickstun intake, Dennis Carpenter high flow water pumps, Fenton cast iron headers, dual 97 Carburators, Stromberg E-fire distributor, 12 volt converted system, Powergen 12 volt alternator, new fuel tank, new electric fuel pump, dual exhaust. Three speed transmission, '39 rear axle, rear air-ride suspension with relocated shock absorbers, front suspension has a heavy 4 inch drop axle with drop spindles, and Posie's dropped, reversed eye front spring.
The most obvious restyling of this Mercury is the smooth chop top. 5 inch vertically cut, the front half of the roof is original sheet metal. The entire rear half of the roof was created and shaped by Max Farrell from 'Kustom Fabrication' in California. Every piece was shaped using an original Pettingell power hammer, traditional methods, Tig welded and metal finished. All the outer stainless trim was cut welded and metal finished, polished. The custom flush mounted skirts were also hand made. The interior seats have been reupholstered. The vehicles interior could use some more work to complete, like door panels, headliner, and carpet. All the chrome has been redone, the insides of the front and rear bumpers were polished, as well as the bumper brackets, nice little details. There are some extra parts that will go with the vehicle.
