Vehicle Description

1946 Mercury woodie wagon. This woodie is in overall great condition for its age. I would consider this a survivor car in semi un restored condition. I would like to be very transparent with my add description so you fully understand what you are bidding on and what level of car you should expect so there are no disappointment or misunderstandings. This car runs excellent! Brand new electronic ignition distributor and brand new carburetor just installed. Car has previously been converted to 12 volt and has and alternator conversion as well. Other than those items the drivetrain is mostly original and un touched. The factory gauges do not work most likely because of the 12 volt conversion. There are aftermarket gauges installed in the glove box that work and the engine vitals are good. I have driven the car to a couple local car shows and it runs and drives good. There are a few issues I would like the potential buyers to be aware of. The transmissions will occasionally pop out of 2nd gear only on deceleration. This could be a linkage adjustment or something else I’m not sure. The brakes work ok but the car has sat for a fairly long periods and they should probably be inspected or freshened up. The tires hold air and I have taken short trips but I would definitely recommend replacing the tires before any serious driving just due to their age and some cracking. The car has repainted some point on the past and I would consider it a “driver quality” paint job. This is not a show car. The body looks to be in fairly good condition, no signs of major rust or areas of concern. However the car is almost 80 years old and it’s has its share of imperfections, trim has dents, minor pits in the chrome, the hub caps are also fairly dented up things of that nature. Please take a close look at the photos.I’m not sure it the upholstery is original or if it has been done at some point over the years, but the interior is in very good shape. The wood on this woodie is very solid both inside and out, doors open and close great, windows roll up and down, nicely, weather strips are in good shape everything is very tight and looks very presentable. The rear gate folds down as it should and fully functions. The top is in very good condition as well.I feel I have very accurately described this vehicle if you have any other questions please feel free to message me. I have also uploaded a short walk around video.Overall this is a great example of a classic woodie. This car would make for a great driver to take to local shows / events. Or can also be a great foundation for a restoration project.I have a short walk around video that is too long to for me to add here. I can send this video to any serious potential buyer.
