1968 Mercury Cougar up for sale. 3-speed, automatic 302. Original Los Angeles vehicle. This is a straightforward project car. No Trades.Mechanical:Original 302 engine runs, however the fuel in the tank is bad and the carburetor needs a rebuild. While in need of a major refresh, the engine is very much a solid foundation for a good build but will need an investment for optimal performance. Includes a/c. Headlight actuators work.The BodyVery small bit of rust from a spot just above the windshield (due to a tear in the car cover fabric) that will need attention. Underside tear in the floor panel; this will need a re-weld or replacement of that panel – not a difficult task as the cosmetics are not critical in this area. No further body issues. This is a solid, original body that will clean up with a minimum of effort.Interior:The interior is in good shape overall. Many of the chromed surfaces will need attention or replacement. Current owner replaced the dash. Remainder of interior is original. The dash, front and rear seats, upholstery and headliner are intact and clean.
