This 1949 Mercury Eight woodie wagon underwent a complete, ground up refurbishment from 2015 to 2023 that included replacement of the wood framework and doors as well as media blasting and paint for all metal surfaces. a Mercury 255CI V8 paired with a three-speed column-shifted manual transmission with overdrive, the wagon is fitted with three rows of bench seats trimmed in tan leather upholstery as well as a new, correct pattern headliner, front vent windows, original wheels with chrome hubcaps and beauty rings, and a rear spare-tire carrier. Glass is all new. Has a stainless steel exhaust system. This woodie wagon is now offered with a clean registration with no liens or encumbrances in the seller’s name.All wood framing and doors were replaced during a refurbishment that occurred in 2019. The brake master cylinder is new as are all brake lines, and new wheel cylinders and brake shoes were fitted in January 2020.Three rows of re-sprung bench seating are upholstered in tan leather/vinyl just like original and complemented by rubber floor coverings and wood door panels. Equipment includes front vent windows, an under-dash heater, an original, rebuilt turn-signal switch stalk, and sun visors. The AM radio does not work.The two-spoke steering wheel features a horn-ring and frames factory instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. All gauges work. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 150 of which were added by the seller since complete rebuild. True mileage is unknown.The Mercury 255CI engine and transmission were completely rebuilt. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.The chassis number indicated on the title—9CM-58267—is located on the passenger side frame rail near the engine.
