My 1994 Mercedes-Benz 290GD is a three-door station wagon that was used by the Royal Dutch Military Constabulary and it remained in the country until it was acquired by myself in 2021 and I relocated it to Liverpool England . Subsequent refurbishments and modifications included a repaint in Nardo Gray, installing 16″ Atik alloy wheels, adding LED headlights with guards, re-trimming the front seats in black leather with diamond-stitch fabric inserts, and fitting an aftermarket stereo and all-weather floor mats. The fluids were changed and the front brake pads and rotors were also replaced by myself.Power is provided by a 2.9-liter diesel inline-five linked with a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a rear locking differential. This W461 290GD shows 57k miles (91k klms)
The exterior bodywork underwent a color change to Nardo Gray and so did the interior.Modifications included the installation of LTPRTZ LED headlights, black powder-coated headlight grilles and exterior trim, and aftermarket rear window tinting. Exterior equipment includes clear fender-mounted front turn signals, a rear tow hitch, and rubber side moldings.
A set of 16″ Atik alloy wheels was sourced by myself and finished in black before they were installed in place of the factory steel wheels. Traction is provided by 235/85/16 Continental CrossContact tires, and a spare is affixed to the rear cargo door. The truck was factory equipped with a front axle torsion stabilizer bar as well as rigid front and rear axles with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames a 180-km/h speedometer as well as a tachometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 91k kilometers (~57k miles), approximately 3k kilometers (~1,900 miles) of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter OM602 diesel inline-five was factory rated at 95 horsepower and 141 lb-ft of torque.I have regularly serviced the vehicle engine 12 months and changed all oils, brake fluid and antifreeze at service intervals.
This car is rot free of tin worm, I normally put it away for the winter as I live on a damp island called the uk.
