FOR SALE is a highly original 1968 Mercedes Benz 280SL Pagoda. This is a collector grade and quality vehicle that has all of its original spot welds and notches. It has had three owners in the past, all documented. It is finished in its original and rare color combination of light ivory over a brown leather interior. Originally it was sold by British Motor Cars of Spokane to a Mr. Jackey, who owned it until 1991. The second owner kept the vehicle in Washington until 2015. In 2017 this vehicle had a full mechanical overhaul which included a rebuild of the numbers-matching 2.8-liter straight-six, servicing the original 4-speed automatic transmission, refurbishing the mechanical fuel-injection system, and more. It comes with its original hardtop, its original purchase and sale documentation, Data Card, factory books and supplements, a partially-stamped service booklet, receipts for the refurbishment, and a clean CA title. The interior of this vehicle is nearly flawless and in great condition. Original Becker radio. The exterior is in good condition and very original. All the original spot welds on the fenders, notches on the headlights, numbers on the panels are visible and look great. Paint is deep and glossy. Mechanically it runs and drives well. The ride is smooth and elegant. Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. During that time they replaced all the shocks, rebuilt the starter, master cylinder, A/C unit and more. This is a proven numbers matching car factory stampings for engine #001875 and transmission #015633, both of which match the factory Data Card.
