1982 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

Vehicle Description
1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D – Classic Diesel
This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D runs strong and has been a dependable driver. The odometer stopped at 173,000 miles about two years ago, but the car has seen regular use since then. Last year I drove it from California and back for work without issue.
The OM617 five-cylinder diesel engine is known for longevity, and this one is still pulling strong. Recent work includes:
-
Regular oil changes
-
New glow plugs
-
New belts and alternator
-
Front end rebuilt
-
Rear axle replaced
Known issues for transparency:
-
The vacuum system needs repair > the power brakes are not currently working.
-
Stereo installation was started but not completed (see photos).
Positives:
-
Interior remains in excellent condition
-
Sunroof still works
-
Originally a North Carolina car with minimal rust compared to most W123s
This is a classic Mercedes diesel with plenty of life left. It’s ready for someone who appreciates these cars and wants to take it the rest of the way.
