Vehicle Description

1962 Mercedes Benz 220 se coupe

The 1962 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Coupe is a classic luxury car known for its elegant styling, comfortable interior, and advanced features for its time

.

Design and features

Part of the W111 generation (1959-1971), it shares its chassis and many design elements with the sedan version.

It is known for its distinctive "fintail" design, though these were more subtle on the coupe and cabriolet than the sedan models.

The coupe features a luxurious interior, often adorned with high-quality materials like leather and wood veneers.

Standard features include a 2.2L inline six-cylinder engine (M127), a 4-speed manual transmission, and fuel injection (a relatively advanced feature for the era).

Optional features included a sliding sunroof, automatic transmission, power steering, and individual rear seats.

Performance

The 2.2L inline-six engine generates 120 hp, offering a top speed of around 172 km/h (107 mph) and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 14 seconds.

It was considered a comfortable cruiser rather than a high-performance sports car.

Production and collectible

Production of the W111 220SE Coupe ran from 1961 to 1965, with a total of 14,173 units produced.

Its elegant design, luxurious features, and limited production make it a highly desirable classic car today.

Values can vary significantly depending on condition and originality, ranging from the low thousands for project cars to well over $100,000 for exceptionally well-maintained examples.

This particular car won the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, BEST OF SHOW,

Three years in a row, 1999, 2000, and 2001, car was in impeccable condition at that time.

It is funny how cars can emulate their owners this car is a perfect example, the owner of 27+ years

Fell on hard times somewhere in the 2005 area, work related issues, family issues, and ultimately health issues

Took it toll on the Owner over a period of about 20 years, at the same time the car got moved from a luxury high-end garage

In a private home, to various stages of storage facilities, ending up the last year of its life in a field with a tarp on it

At the same time, the owner ended up where he is still today in a hospice care.

The car itself, although needing completely redone is incredibly solid, trunk floors, floor pans, 1/4 panels, rocker panels, fenders, and such

Are very solid with just minimal surface rust, no rot. interior needs completely redone, motor does turn over we did not drain the fuel.

Or mess with any of the fluids, but it does turn over, Carr would make a wonderful restoration piece or even better yet

I think the car would make a great resto-mod, upgrade the drive train with American components put a nice interior in it

Do all of the correct upgrades of a resto-mod and you would have a one off killer car.

We are setting the car in at a very low number with no reserve, and the last bidder gets it. What you receive is a very solid

Low production number vehicle, highly desirable body style, and a clean Pennsylvania title, picture in the ad.

NO RESERVE
