mercedes-benz 250s W108 sedan 250se 280se

Vehicle Description
A really special car I have known my whole life. I purchased this from a family friend who bought this new from Jim Slemons Mercedes dealer in Santa Ana California through their European delivery program. This is a completely original paint, interior, mechanics, accident free, one owner (1967-2018) survivor. I purchased this car for a family Sunday/funday car and it has delivered! It sits well and has that old money aesthetic at car shows like you aren’t trying too hard. When I purchased the car it looked pretty much the same. I drained the tank, rebuilt the brake calipers and master cylinder from PB topping a highly regarded professional brake shop. I replaced the inner and outer wheel bearings, new rotors, front shocks, new Maxxis tires on all original (5) painted and dated rims. The front drivers window did not work so I found a NOS window regulator and all other parts supplied from the classic center.I also purchased a factory new windshield and seals for front and rear windshield and had installed by a professional windshield installer. I cannot stress how nice a new windshield makes the car look and nice to drive. There is a lot of glass there! I removed the original chrome wipers but have them included in pics. The dash is nice and not cracked. The heater and vent slides work and I hear something engage and feel air but have not used the heater. All fluids including the transmission have been flushed and changed regularly. I just had the oil done with filter (Mercedes) along with a tire rotation done yesterday when I took the underside pictures. This cars drives very nice with a nice purr and the four speed makes it very fun to drive. There is an unbelievable amount of documentation from correspondence between customer and dealer, original invoices I found in German in the side pockets that said “Paid” so he could leave the factory. Data cards, owners manual, stamped plate, European delivery program info, maps, touchup paint, antenna info, and hand written notes on maintenance and fuel consumption. Also I have kept receipts from parts I have purchased from the Mercedes classic center in Long Beach. Please see photos. While this car is amazingly rust free there are a couple spots on the lower from bottom trim, under the battery where it leaked at one time and in the trunk under the mat. The pictures included of the trunk rubber and door entrances are uniform around the car but I am only allowed 40 photos and took over a hundred. These photos are meant to show overall great condition. If you would like to see a specific photo please ask. I took a lot underneath put can’t upload enough. The paint color is called dark red. The pics show under full sun looks red but at dusk it takes more of a black look. There are scratches and a few small dents. The original owner enjoyed dabbing touch up paint and I have been tempted to sand down but hesitant. I think the car would benefit from some paint correction to get it even nicer.Mechanically it is a good driver but it does come out of second gear when first driving it after sitting but after about a mile or two it is fine. There is some smoke on start up after sitting a couple weeks. There was an oil leak that my mechanic said he tightened a clamp that was loose and to monitor. I also installed an in line fuel pump which works well. There is a battery disconnect attached to the interstate battery. All lights, horn, keys and windows work as they should. I have a clean title in my name and registration paid until January 2026.This is a car you could drive away. I will assist with shipping needs and delivery to a forwarder and make it available for inspections.Note: The owner gave me an original showroom poster from the factory which I have listed separately but will include if the new owner would like, agreeson a fair price and is still available when the car sells.
