Vehicle Description

1985 Mercedes-Benz 230e 4DR SEDAN. ONLY 44K BARN FIND!!! PASTELL BEIGE / SUNROOFNovember 1984 230E (This model was not sold new in the U.S. and it was imported from Germany)vin number:WDB1232231A229239Pastel Beige exterior colorPalamino interior colorSunroofFuel InjectionClear, New title included. What a find!! This 1985 Mercedes is a time capsual. Note the 1986 inspection stickers on the windshield and the 1987 newspaper sitting on the passenger seat! Only 44,147 miles on this car and by the condition of the interior and the details like the stickers and that newspaper it is absolutly accurate! We do not know the exact history of this car but what was told to us is that the car was garage kept for the majority of its life then several years ago it was pushed out of the garage. The interior shows no cracks or fading so I belive that has to be the case. The interior does not smell! no water damage or mold that we can see.We gave the car a good cleaning, Power washed the scum off, and gave it a quick buff with a color restorer. The car honestly cleaned up very well and with a really good detail will look even better! We installed 4 new tires as the tires that were on the car were very dryrotted and would not hold air. That is exactly how far we went.WE HAVE NOT STARTED THIS CAR! Because this is a "Barn Find" and has not been running since possibly 1987 we have not tried to start the car. We did however install a battery just to be sure it turned over. It did with no issues so I feel very confident it will run with a onceover that a car of this age would need. I am sure the gas tank will need to be cleaned out as well as possibly the injectors? Hard to say. Heck, you may just put gas in it and have it running in minutes, I cant say that for sure.Things to note: The car will need a right rear caliper as we had to disconnect it because it was frozen to the brake rotor. There are only 2 rust spots that we found on this car!! Its super clean. One on the left valance and 1 on the bottom of the left quarter panel. Please see images. Lastly, When this car was moved outside it looks like someone sawed the exhaust off to steal the catalytic converter. The front pipe is still there so it will need a cat back system.I want to make this very clear so you know what you are buying and who you are buying from: We did not try and start this car, Find a problem, and are now offing a problem. I am not that guy and wouldn't want someone doing that to me. We are a Classic Ford parts company that is used to dealing in 1960s and 1970s Fords. This Mercedes is not in our wheelhouse and is not something we have ever worked on. I would much rather see someone that knows these cars to give it a onceover and enjoy it. We saved it from being scrapped or parted out and hope to find it a good home. Its honestly a really nice car!If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. I will answer the best I can.NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!PICKUP IN LAUREL DELAWARE. OR, WE SHIP! JUST ASK FOR A QUOTE!Thank you!
