Vehicle Description

Vehicle Original VIN : 5Y82N438466Lincoln has been building the Continental for a really long time, and by 1961 they were on the fourth generation of the car that would last until 1969. Lincoln was struggling against Cadillac at this time and they were also struggling with profitability putting the future at risk. However, the fourth generation of cars would turn that around for the company. In addition to the famous suicide rear doors, this would be the first time a four-door convertible from a US auto manufacturer would be produced post WWII. This particular car is owned by its third owner and he has owned the car since 2000 whom he purchased the car from a friend of the original owner. And over that time-frame this car has been lovingly cared for, stored and restored over multiple years but the big one was done fall 2009 through 2010. The list of items replaced or rebuilt is long but we have all the receipts that date back to the early 2000's. This Continental runs and drives sooo nice, quiet and smooth. There are a few items it needs like a couple window switches or motors. There are two spare window motors that come with the car, the A/C was retrofitted at time of restoration and does engage but appears to need a re-charge for ice-cold air. The paint is good but not perfect, the chrome and brite-work is nice, and just an overall very solid good-looking driver Continental. These are pretty hard to find and a very good entry point in to the collector car hobby. There is a lot to list and we welcome any questions or inspections here in our Traverse City location.
