Vehicle Description
1942 Lincoln Continental Coupe. A significant Lincoln known to collectors for its rich history. Numbers-matching V-12, 3 speed with overdrive. Power windows converted to electric while keeping original switches. Very correct car in all ways. The Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club magazine articles (The Way of the Zephyr) and much history/documentation available upon request. Car has appeared in newspapers, magazines, and books since the 1960’s. Excellent paint, body, chrome, and has correct interior. Drives great and has won many awards including the Lincoln Trophy at a recent national Lincoln and Continental Owners Club meet. Score sheets available. I have too many cars; now retiring and need to let some go. Since owning the car, I have replaced the water pumps with hi-flow, also professionally rebuilt distributor, new starter Bendix/solenoid, coils/points, transmission gone through- has new clutch disc, synchronizers, and re-sealed. All features work except clock and lighters. Car was completed Christmas Eve of 1941 and originally owned by movie and opera star, Grace Moore, and later was part of collections in Denver, Hawaii, Beverly Hills, part of the “Main Street” for 9+ years in the Peterson Museum, and in the renowned Dingman Collection. It has had restorations, updates, and repairs over the many decades. This car is what caused the formation of the Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club in the 1960’s and has been followed by the Club since then. Originally 1 of 200 Coupes built in the shortened 1942 model year. Must have bid history of 10 positive or will be rejected. Odometer not accurate- actual mileage not known.
