Vehicle Description
This is not a show rig, it's a bad to the bone off-roader. The paint and interior finishes reflect previous statement. Clear was faded and just put 2K clear over the faded part. Looks decent from 10 foot but it's for hitting the trails and cars and coffees not winning awards. You won't find a faster, louder or more aggressive looking Rover for my asking price. You will barely be able to find a stock running and driving one with a 13 of the power and be in the shop more than driving it(hence the LS swap😉). The majority of the details can be seen in the pics, but will spell most of them out below.
1987 Range Rover with a 2007 4.8 LS truck motor and Jeep AX15 Manual transmission. Motor has brand new BTR head gaskets, GM LS7 lifters, Texas Speed and Performance cam, PSI beehive valve springs, Trailblazer SS manifold, water pump, Melling Oil pump, Camaro oilpan and pickup tube, Stage 2 off road clutch and flywheel kit from clutch masters, Taylor wires and new coil packs and NGK plugs. Transmission was just rebuilt with all Japanese bearings and synchros. Also had Marlin Crawlers billet bearing retainer and chromoly thrust washer installed since it was going behind an LS. I am using a Quick Draw brand AX15 to LS bellhousing. This lets everything on the transmission side be stock Jeep OE parts and the clutch, flywheel and pilot are stock OE GM. No specialty parts needed. Jeep slave cylinder and throw out bearing. I am using a Diesel Conversion Specialist Jeep to Land Rover adapter to go to the stock Land Rover transfer case. The LS is running a stock LS 0411 computer with a stand alone harness and the check engine light in the Rover is wired into the LS computer, so if there is a problem you actually will get a check engine light.There's also a brand new LS swap Frostbite radiator in it. I also have a brand new Tom Woods double cardon drive shaft in the front.
The interior swap is out of a 2004 Land Rover. All the power seat functions work except...... The forward and backwards motor on both seats.... So you can tilt the bottoms, tilt the backs and adjust the lumbar you just can't move the seats forward or backward, except the driver's side if you are standing out of the vehicle (has a weak motor and won't move with body weight on seat) Has a terrible radio but I like listening to the motor.
These are fulltime four wheel drive but low range(3.321:1) and high range(1.222:1) work as well as the central locking differential ( that's the screwdriver next to the transfer case its welded to the lever on the locker and you move it left to lock it and right to have it open for regular road driving).
Runs, drives, AC works, factory cruise control is hooked up too! Sounds incredible ( I have a full 3" stainless steel exhaust with FlowFX stainless muffler).
