1976 AMC Jeep FSJ Wagoneer White Blue Interior 'Z' Code

Vehicle Description
It is with heavy heart that I am must say goodbye to my dear Wagoneer! I started this journey stumbling across a final two week build 1991 Grand Wagoneer. Regretted selling every one of my FSJs since. 2 more 91s, a fantastic 90, two 89, 88, 87. Then in to the AMC years. A spectacular low mile (32k miles) survivor 76 chief, a 77 wag, and now this guy. This one has been my absolute favorite. The look, the interior, the smooth ride, the power of the original 401 and the incredible Patina that just getting better and better. This has the most amazing floors of any, including the Chief, that I have ever seen. I will, most certainly, regret selling this one, as well. But, this is where we are. I am shifting goals and objectives, and I can't dedicate any time to this magnificent specimen. Featured in BJs Offroad 2023 Calendar as the January Jeep, pretty much everything has been done. Over $40k invested. All receipts, and pictures will convey. Just needs some final fine tuning. The good.'Z' code401 Engine rebuiltless than 300 miles ago, there was no need to bore, considering low miles, and cylinder walls were in great shape, see pictures.Engine repainted in original AMC blueAll emissions still presentHEI Distributor with ignition built in, bypassing problematic Ford ignition control module. Then painted alpine white (original paint code).Mostly original paint. Rear quarters behind wheels correctly patched, and rear quarters were painted before new wood decals.Brake system R&R mostly all replaced. I made the mistake of cleaning out the rocker cavity, SMH.overheats since rebuild - this just guts me, since it didn't need to be rebuilt in the first place. I chose to rebuild the tcase, trans, and engine so I had a reliable daily. The overheating is not a blown head gasket, or cracked block, everything has been pressure tested, checked, replaced. Engine internals were deep cleaned before reassembly. It is an AMC 401, it is the nature, unless you dial in the carb and timing perfectly. I don't have time or heart to continue this journey. I throw in the towel. I am not a mechanic, just a hobbyist. This needs a fresh set of eyes.I have 1000+ photos during my 8+ years of ownership. I bought this beauty when it had 58,000 original miles. It now has 78K+. Just needs someone with time and expertise.Thank you for visiting.Feel free to call to discuss910-599-0478
