Vehicle Description

This jeep was purchased by a friend years ago with the intention of fixing it up. He got busy and never completed the restoration, and I am now helping to sell the vehicle. This jeep runs reasonably well. I believe it has the original engine, which seems to run fine. I'll get to the (known) problems in a minute, but first the good stuff:The body is in really good shape for its age. Granted it has a few dings and the tailgate is slightly bent as you can see in the photos, but there is very little corrosion. The frame for the soft top seems to work perfectly. The windows all roll up and down well, and the window frames are all intact. The lights, blinkers, and wipers all work. The doors open and latch smoothly. It is a very unique vehicle which elicits admiration and envy.Known problems:There is a very slow leak of brake fluid from the right front. The soft top lacks a back window, and has a cut on the upper rear left as you can see in the photo. The carburetor lacks an air filter. It seems like the intake of the carburetor has a small piece that is broken that would have secured a filter. This seems fixable without much trouble, but would be up to you. I have neither the tools nor the time to fix it. It has not been run in dusty conditions or for much time without a filter. The front differential is not connected to the transmission, so it currently functions as a RWD. I am not sure if this is because the differential is bad, if the linkage broke and was just not repaired, or what, but it's not connected.Overall, it's a blast to drive. It's a great buy because it runs as-is, but also has tremendous potential if someone wanted to put some time into restoring it. It is priced well below almost any other Commando you will find, but you won't be able to find a running specimen for less than this.
