1965 Jaguar 3.8s s-type

Vehicle Description
You are bidding on a 1965 Jaguar 3.8s s-type saloon. Low Reserve!!! The odometer shows 19451. This car was stored in a garage for over 30 years on blocks with a battery charger hooked up for electrolysis. The original 3.8 engine was pulled running and is included in the sale with the original automatic transmission. Another 4.2 block and head are also included. Before storage, the engine was replaced with a e-type 4.2L engine with moss manual 4 spd gearbox. (This was sanctioned by the jaguar club of North America as claimed by the previous owner.) Apparently, the work was done in NC by famous nascar driver Bobby Allison's mechanic who had a shop in state. The car was driven home a few miles to complete the restoration and then stalled. Before that it was supposdely owned by a General at Camp Lejune.Today:The car went through a major refreshing in 2020-2023. The rear end was rebuilt right before purchase. Hydraulics were rebuilt. New brake booster system and all lines. All new vacuum lines for the control system. New tires and tubes. Rims are from a later e-type. Original rims (curly) are included as well as all spare parts. Tanks were pulled and cleaned. 1 fuel pump was rebuilt and 1 is brand new. Runs and drives great! All gauges work. All lights work (front driver turn intermittent). The car was striped to bare metal treated and few small rust spots in corners and professionally welded. Epoxy sealed and painted "jaguar dark blue" with top end PPG deltron and 2002 clear. The door jams, trunk lid, fuel doors were also all painted and the car presents very well. The interior was cleaned and treated. The back seat is original and shows some fading and a crack but kept it for originality and had a unique look that you can't recreate. The front was replaced with high end leather by the previous owner and matches the car age very well. The wood was revarnished and re-veneered where needed. The headliner is in very good shape with some light staining. Brand new llyods plush floor mats finish it off. Original style fitted coco matts also come with the car. Original manual included.Underneath the car is very clean fairly unheard of for this model.I encourage you to look up the history of the s-type and its racing heritage. The saloon with full independent suspension and four wheel disc brakes of the e-type. This was supposedly the choice for British bank robbers!Faults:The power steering works great but leaks mainly when sittting for awhile. Some of the main seals have been changed. Upgrades to the system are available or having the (working great) pump rebuilt.Engine and gearbox have some weeps nothing major in my opinion and pretty good for a British car. The rear end is fairly dry. There are a few paint imperfections. A few bubbles. A small smudge. These can be seen in the photos. Car of course still looks amazing. The door cards are original and show some wear/cracks as seen in the pictures. Chrome bumpers and trim have some light pitting and are original. I would say in bumpers and drip rail a 7 out of 10. Side trim 8 out of 10. Front grille used replacement 9 out of ten. Rear tailights and rear light chrome handle also replaced with better used 9 out of 10.The exhaust is older and sometimes minor leaking in some new flex pipe section connections (likely will address).Pneumatic heater control replaced with an engine compartment valve for reliability. System all new so a new valve would work fine. Many spares and priceless parts are included in the sale! Clean title in my name. This is truly a one of a kind car with the luxury of the saloon but with the power and fun of the 4.2L manual gearbox!Serious bidders only! Shipping paid and arranged by buyer. As with all auctions I encourage you to come look at the car in person before bidding. Deposit due within 24hrs and full payment due within 7 days.additional 100+ photos available on request.
