Attention all you hot rodders who wanted to do an engine transplant into a Jaguar but never got around to it. Here is one that has most of the major work already done. The car was a V12 car and someone along the way replaced that engine with a Chrysler 318 cubic inch V8. The transmission is a General Motors and appears to be the original that was installed at the factory. The engine starts and runs. Has breakerless ignition and a two barrel carburetor. It will move under its own power and will stop. However everything should be gone through before any serious driving is undertaken. What does that mean? Go through the brakes, check the suspension and make the lights work better. All of the lights work but the parking lights stay on when the battery is connected. The headlight switch works but the positions seem to be off. Parking lights are headlights and the headlight position turns the headlights off. Turn signals do not work. Power windows work but need to have power placed to the switches to make them operational. In other words the wiring needs to be examined. The heater seems to work and the blower motor too. The previous owner put a fuel cell in the trunk (see pic) because he believes the original fuel tanks (2) were no good.The body appears to be solid but the left rear door, rocker panel and left front door have damage. The seats and door cards are mostly trash. The tachometer, temperature gauge and voltage meter work. The speedometer, oil pressure and fuel gauge do not. Speaking of fuel, the pickup in the fuel cell might be too short and does not reach to the center of the tank. Just keep enough fuel in it and the car will run. So, to recap. This is a running driving car that will need TLC to make it a good driver. No, don't drive it home, trailer it. Go through the carb and other systems and make it your own.
