Previous owner was a collector and has maintained and serviced it well. Kept indoors when not used. Mainly used for going to the store in town, parades, car shows and cruise nights.Body is fairly clean as you can see. Not perfect, so does have some character. Paint is older and faded on hood, with a few pinholes on a few body panels like right top fender, hood, and left door. I added the stripes to break it up a little bit. Bottom section where the black is has some filler. Had paint wetsanded and buffed and it's basically a 20-30 footer. Doors open and close good. Presentable enough to get thumbs up on the street, but should eventually be redone.Under the hood lies the original 266 V8 that starts right up and runs great. Well serviced and maintained as mentioned. Start it, warm it up for a minute or two with manual choke and off you go anywhere you want. Steering is good, some normal play in the wheel which is typical for these older scouts. Brakes grab well and stop fine. Very reliable and it's a 4 SPEED which is pretty unusual for an 800.Interior has had BRAND NEW Besttop seats installed front and back, while the rest is pretty much original. I added the center console from a Scout II to give it a nice touch.Underside is typical for a scout. Previous owner did have the floors replaced with factory panels, and they did a good job, it's solid as a rock, but they left the old sections of floors underneath to be cut out. Frame is EXCELLENT with no issues. Inner rockers need some work, again typical on these and a few of the smaller braces need attention. Nothing that needs to be done right away, but if you want a nice truck it will require some work down the line.Overall it's a GREAT TRUCK that you can get in and drive, and you just DO NOT SEE Sport Tops around anymore, and add to that it's a factory V8 one, and it's virtually the HOLY GRAIL of early Scouts.
