Vehicle Description

Up for sale is an extremely well preserved original example of a 1967 International Harvester SCOUT 800 with a factory V8 4 Speed manual transmission. (V8 - 266 cu in) I purchased it out of Southern California around 2 years ago from an owner that had it in his possession, garage-kept, for over 20 years. He had purchased it from his neighbor who also had it garage kept. The previous owner had it for years with minimal use and more recently planned to get it road ready for his daughter's first car. He spent over $10K having a shop go over it. Ultimately they decided to sell this vehicle to fund the purchase of a more suitable first car. That's when I was able to purchase it.I had been looking for a while for a really clean, honest example of one, specifically with a factory V8 4 Speed. The truck starts right up, idles and drives strong. It will need a new exhaust or at the very least a muffler, I had planned on doing a nice dual exhaust. I see zero rust through on the truck. Normal pitting on the floors from moisture between the carpet that had been installed in it. This is an easy wire wheel and rust encapsulating primer job. I had no plans to change this "patina" Scout as I find these vehicles are becoming more and more desirable and valuable untouched. There has been a very light respray at one point on the truck, and you can see in some areas how it is chipped or peeled away. It doesn't appear to have been sanded just a light overspray paint job. If you know these Scouts, they didn't hold their factory paint very well. I've gone over it with the thinnest of magnets and it sticks everywhere. I've looked up into the body panel and don't see any bodywork. Please see photos, there are some small dings and dents which can be easily removed by paintless dent repair. The under chassis shows its factory undercoating and is completely original and hasn't been hidden with black spray paint or new undercoating. Again, this is a completely original untouched vehicle in that way. I look at most Scouts that come up for sale and most are just hiding bodywork under shiny paint jobs, and rust with black paint and undercoating on their undersides. The photos here really show the truck for what it is. I have the metal door panel inserts, they were just removed to inspect inside the doors. The seat upholstery is all original from what I can tell. Please feel free to ask any questions, you can come and see it if you'd like. It's located in Red Bank, NJ. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the vehicle is for sale privately and locally.PAYMENT: $500 deposit required and the balance due in CASH. I will NOT be accepting payment through eBay's payment system, despite what the listing may say.
