1973 IH Scout II Chassis and Driveline. Fresh with test stand miles only.
Item №537071

Vehicle Description
1973 International Harvester Scout II ChassisThis project started as a super heavy-duty build with an AMC 401 engine. I initially built the engine as a moderate torque version, installed in the chassis and only ran it on the stand to verify the entire driveline functioned as designed.
I decided to have the engine built to the max and after dyno runs came to the realization that the engine is far too high-strung for a Scout. The choice became, build another milder engine and continue with the Scout or sell the Scout and put the engine in a 1970 Javelin. I chose the latter so everything is for sale except the engine.
The project is easily convertible to any other engine one wishes to use. The bell housing is easy to change as it is a JW Performance "Ultra Bell". The motor mounts are currently for an AMC V-8 but can be easily cut off and replaced with whatever is desired. Note that I have Tig welded 1/8" thick plates to the inside of the frame rails so the mounts can be cut off and replaced without damaging the frame.
Particulars:
The frame and axle housings have been blasted and epoxy powder coated in satin black. There was no serious frame rust prior.

The rolling stand is included with the sale.
I included a photo with the original AMC engine installed just for reference of how AMC fits the chassis in case someone wants to continue in that direction. I have a line on a complete 304 AMC core engine if someone is interested.
The 401 AMC shown in the photo is NOT included in this package/listing.
I am selling the body and all of its components in a separate listing. Ebay item #295808036921If you are interested in buying both the chassis and body project, please contact me and we can work that out.
Due to the size and complexity of this sale, shipping is not available. It must be picked up on site in Los Alamos, NM.Loading and packing assistance can be provided upon pickup.
There are way too many details to describe in this add but suffice it to say, every detail of this chassis and driveline have been meticulously restored and rebuilt. I obsess over cleanliness in everything I build.
Note that I didn't enter a VIN or title info in the listing. There is no VIN on the frame so the title must go with the body in my other add.
Please ask any questions prior to bidding.
