Vehicle Description

Selling my 1961 Sout. I've owned this rig since 1982. This Scout runs perfect. It drives straight down the road and stops on a dime. This is the half cab version with a super duty roll bar and jump seat in the bed. Stock international 152 engine with 3 speed transmission and high low range. The engine, clutch, transmission, transfer case and four wheel drive system work great. Headlights, tail lights and brake lights work and the engine and tranny are spotless. Speedometer is working. Sold with a full tank of gas, fresh oil and filter and repair manual. Tires have lots of tread but the fronts have some age cracks. I drive this Scout all the time and it is registered and insured.

As with all vehicles ofthis age, this Scout comes with some minorcosmetic andinstrumentation issues that do not affect overall performance. Here isthe list: turn signals need repair, high beams not hooked up, fuel gauge needs repair, temperature and oil pressure not registering properly, Oil filler pipe is missing but comes with a replacement front cover (fill oil via dipstick hole), emergency brake is not connected, currently utilizing only drivers side gas tank, front 4x4 hubs are difficult to turn to lock position. There is a dent in the right rear quarter panel and numerous small dings and scratchesto the body and paint.

As with all scouts there are some rust spots. This is an original California car so fortunately they are not too bad. Here is the list. Minor eraser sized rust bubbles on drivers rocker panel, drivers floor is solid but there are a couple of cracks (see pictures). the top was laying on its side for a few years and there is a rust hole in the top 1 inch by 4 inch on the passenger side, the bed has two rust cracks near the tailgate. Overall, a very solid rig for 1961.

This Scout comes with a pair of doors from a Scout 800 that can be made to fit this Scout. The doors need to be rebuilt and the wind wing glass replaced but they arerust free.

This Scout also comes with an original 1963 shop manual, spare carburetor, spare front bumper, tow bar and some other odds and ends.
