Vehicle Description

Since winter is coming, I am relisting this car. I have removed the reserve (No Reserve).

The time has come to pass on my 1988 Dx 5-speed which has been meticulously upgraded and maintained. It is a 1 owner car - with a clear title, no accidents and Carfax report. It has been my pride and joy since I completed the “project” in 2006 as a “rebuilt” show car with performance to match including a fully rebuilt D16Z6 sohc vtec engine swap with Jackson Racing supercharger (see all upgrades below). It has been extremely well taken care of (with service records) – it has never been driven on salt covered roads since the restoration (spring, summer, fall ONLY), and NEVER raced!Car drives amazing!!REALLY hoping the car goes to a Honda enthusiast that will appreciate and care for it as I have, hopefully in a climate without snow and salt, and a garage.

As a tough critic myself, I would grade the interior a 9.5, mechanics a 9.5, and exterior a 9.To avoid any surprises, there are a couple of blemishes – but hardly noticeable (if they were noticeable I would have fixed them) and the car has been in local shows “as is” without any remarks or concerns. But I know they are there. There is an imperfection in the paint about half the size of a dime over the right rear wheel well since the restoration; there are some spider cracks starting to appear in the body kit and brake lights lenses due to age and flexing of the material, and a few stone chips (as expected).Although they only have approx. 6,000 miles on them, the car has been on those tires for more than 10 years (and they are still holding air – yes, all 4 of them), so should probably be changed. When the car sells, I will have full maintenance performed (including any/all fluids), replace battery, replace the tires and brake light lenses (subject to availability).I am also open to dyno tuning – we can discuss at time of purchase.Lastly, the car has been lowered (via the coilovers) approx. 2 inches to improve the stance – it is possible to rub the bottom of the body kit on very uneven surfaces.

Short history of the car: It was my wife’s first car, purchased in Toronto Canada where it spent its first 12 years and accumulated ONLY93,852km (approx. 58,320 miles!!). We brought it with us when we moved to New Jersey in 2000 where I began the upgrades and restoration. During the restoration, I replaced the instrument cluster because the original had a burnt circuit (see picture) and new cluster is now in miles which is helpful here in the US. The replacement cluster was purchased on eBay with 100,980 currently reads 106,066 Mi (see picture) – approximately 6,000 miles put on the car (and new motor) since 2006. In total, this car has less than 65k original miles – for a 1988 car! No monkey stuff – I have the original cluster to prove this detail and original mileage.

I anticipate listing the car in a couple of other Honda/Car sites, so reserve the right to end this listing early. I will not ship the car nor pay for shipping of the car; it is for local pickup. However, if you want to take on the responsibility and arrangements for shipping, I am happy to work with you to help get it loaded. [Note: I think it is safe to say because of body kit and lower stance, it will need to be transported via a flatbed].
