1971 Honda N600 - solid car, runs and drives well!
Vehicle Description
For sale is a 1971 Honda N600 with 4 speed manual transmission. It has a 2 cylinder air-cooled engine.70K miles are showing, but it has a 5 digit odometer - true miles unknown. The speedometer and odometer worked correctly until this past week, when the speedometer cable started chattering and then broke.
The windshield that is on it has cracks on the passenger side, but the car comes with another windshield that is mint.
It starts easily and idles fine. It runs well with plenty of power. The transmission shifts fine. It takes a couple of tries to get it into reverse, which is probably due to the design. The clutch engages with the pedal position slightly higher than I'm used to in other cars, but it works fine with no slipping. The steering could use a little work to make it tighter, but I have no problem driving it at 45mph around town.
All 4 tires are good condition.
Rust: There is almost no rust. There is a small spot on the passenger side sill, and there are a couple of spots on the firewall (inside the engine bay). These were both treated with rust inhibitor long ago and have not grown.
No cracks in the dash or steering wheel.
New brake pads on the front. Comes with an extra set of brake pads. My mechanic put on a new muffler, but I'm not happy with it - it's too loud. I'm looking for a different one.
