1983 gmc c3500 sierra
Vehicle Description
This truck has been in my family for 36 years. My grandpa bought it from the local utilty gas company in Salt Lake City, UT in 1989. My unlcle had a career working there & would let him know when the silent auction was going to take place for retired vehicles. This truck was lightly used on our farm, since it was 2wd it never got used in the winter and never drove on bad roads. It was always stored indoors in my grandpa's metal building. I was given this truck when my grandpa passed in 2017, I have done a bunch of needed maintenance items since including; New heater core, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new brake master with all new hydroboost unit, new tires in 2022 (only 200 miles on them since), New blasted and powder coating on factory GM wheels. Nice original hubcaps. 4 new shocks. I serviced the rear axle last year with new gear oil and gasket. I painted the floor with zero rust to stop the surface rust (gray). I've done any little needed items to make it up to reliable operation. This truck runs & drives great. The front end is tight, all ball joints & tie rod ends are perfect. I have pages of service records from the Gas company showing every maintenance completed from new in 1983 until 1989 when it was retired. I will include that in the sale to the new buyer. I also have the Pre Delivery Inspection from dealer, the original owners manual & the build sheet (SPID). I just drove this truck 20 miles, I would be comfortable driving it anywhere. It always starts, runs & drives great. It smokes a little on start up because the unbrella seals on the valves have gotten old & hard, but cleans right out and doesn't smoke driving down the road at all. It has the original 350 small block with Rochester carburetor, TH400 auto trans, big brake 14 bolt rear end with 4.10 gears. This is a rare special order truck with single rear wheel. C30 or C3500 1 ton trucks usually had a dually rear end, but not this one. This truck is all original and has had such good maintenance it hasn't need to be modified or messed with. The engine bay is really clean. I had the original hood & tailgate repainted last year just to stop the surface rust from progressing. This is a great truck to jump in right now and enjoy. It has a great patina & history you could use for a shop truck or just a cruiser. I hate to sell it, but I could use the shop space & the money. If I don't get at least my starting price then I will just keep it around for my dump runner truck or a spare. SERIOUS BUYERS with money need only apply. A $500 NON-RUFUNDABLE DEPOSIT will be charged to winning bidder, do not bid unless you can accept the terms. My terms are Bank Wire transfer ONLY for payment or CASH in person upon pickup, no exceptions. Full payment due within 7 days of auction close.Truck is located in Logan, Utah..Buyer is also responsible for all logistics & shipping. NO RESERVE AUCTION. Sold as is where is.
