Vehicle Description

Cool old patina truck for anyone that loves a truck that has a lot of character! It has an interesting history having previously belonged to the Yosemite school district. It is a 1975 GMC 3+3 crew cab. These early single rear wheel crew cab trucks are getting very rare to find. Due to the year, it is exempt from smog here in California and likely other states that have smog restrictions.I bought it with the intention of Cummins swapping it to make it a comfortable long distance tow rig. However, with the birth of our daughter, I need to reduce the amount of projects I have going so I have decided to sell it.It does come with Cummins swap engine mounts. It also has a 1" body lift and new polyurethane body mounts that have been installed to make space for any transmission swap option. The engine in it is a 454 V8 that runs strong. I recently installed a new aluminum water pump, and thermostat. The carburetor was rebuilt a couple years ago and a new fuel pump and power steering pump was installed at that time.Dual 20 gallon polyurethane fuel tanks were installed with new fuel lines and electronic fuel switchover valve. The valve still needs to be wired into the cab as I didn't intend on using the second tank until after the diesel swap. The front brakes have just been overhauled with new rotors, calipers, pads and rubber lines. I chose the calipers that came with the heavy duty braking package from the mid 80s square bodies that provide 15% better braking force. The hydraulic steering gear was also just recently replaced. The wheels are brand new US Wheel 17x8 steel wheels with the factory hub caps. The 17" wheels allows for a large selection of modern tire choices than the factory size. The tires on it are brand new and still have the stickers attached. The headlights were brought up to modern standards while keeping the classic look by retrofitting Jeep Wrangler headlights. The tail lights were also updated to super bright LEDs for extra safety. These old square bodies are notorious for sagging doors that need to be slammed shut. To fix that I just put new door hinge pins and bushings in all the doors, along with all new door seals. The rest of the body has a great patina to it, showing all of it's history. There are a few spots where actual rust has begun, which are pictured, but with some preventative measures the trucks character could remain as it is for the foreseeable future. The most recent project was starting to freshen up the interior. I installed a new chocolate brown headliner to replace the original sagging one and re-dyed the interior trim and door panels to match. It really complements the red color of the truck. It also has a beautiful wood steering wheel to match the original wood paneling on the doors and dash.A Besttop soft bed cap will come with the truck. It is in good shape and comes with all the window panels, even though they weren't on when I took photos. It also comes with a bunch of extra parts including a chrome rear bumper, spare interior trim pieces, and some other odds and ends. It's a fun truck with a ton of character and gets lots of looks everywhere it goes! The truck is sold as-is with no warranty implied. The purchaser is responsible for local pickup or arranging shipping with a carrier.
