1987 Ford 1 ton window van

Vehicle Description
Up for sale is a very nice, one owner, well preserved 1987 ford E-350 one ton window van. I call this van a genuine survivor. I took great care of this van and it shows. This is a no-road salt van! The van has 74 thousand easy miles on it, Has a Marantz am/fm cassette stereo and Kraco speakers that works well. The van Has been detailed and the engine power washed. Interior is super-clean. May have two sets of keys. Runs on regular gas. The van has two fuel tanks. One has old gas. Mortgage your house to fill ‘em! Drive it to California today. (Bring lots of gas money) You can haul big stuff with this van. The engine is the classic big block 460, or 7.5 liter as you wish. Van used to take a trailer of running, hit-miss gas engines to old gas engine/tractor meets for 30 years plus all over New England. It is great on long, steep hills out west! I slept in it weekends. (factory carpet nice.) I have a problem with the interior roof. A section of the carboard roof separated from the rails that hold it in place. I am not strong enough to pry it back into the rails using a large putty knife. Has new radiator 10,000 miles ago. It has the venerable C7 transmission good for 300 thousand miles plus. Van has slightly lower gearing to assist on long hills with heavy loads. (makes it accelerate faster when empty!!) The chassis was used on the small Ford dump truck, the ambulance, 1 ton pickups and vans, all with the 460 and C-7 tranny. There is a full frame hitch with 2 7/8 Ball, ball very rusty from lack of use. No crashes or dents, excellent paint. You will find rust in small areas and small parts of the roof gutters. There is a fair amount of rust on the undercarriage but nothing structural. The chassis was coated with POR when purchased new and again when body was restored 15,000 miles ago. I Installed the parts I had in stock. Dropped the rear tank to get to the pump. (Discovered lowering tank not needed.). The van has full factory towing harness including electric brakes. The engine runs mint. (Runs very quiet!) This van has had regular servicing by me all these years. New front ball joints and alignment. The van has been routinely greased. The Van has been garaged. Clean front and rear chrome bumpers installed. The tires are fair. The shocks are good. The brakes are good with low milage front pucks and drum rears replaced over time. All engine belts replaced due to cracking. Large cooling hoses replaced. I installed a dual Flowmaster three-chamber X-2 exhaust front to back 2.7/8 pipe. Sounds really nice, goes better. All steel brake lines inspected. Replaced a number of brake lines, could use more. All spark plugs replaced at 50K miles using Never-Seize on the threads. The van has A/C but it quit years ago. New 1/8” steel sheet decking and all factory lower panels installed 15+ yrs ago. Same for calipers and drums. (Spent $12 G’s during restoration.) I have removed all the air injection as van has no cats. This cleared out the engine box a lot! You get all the parts! It has a current sticker. I drive it 50 miles a year on nice days for 12 years now. It’s a ton of fun to drive if you appreciate big, carbureted V-8 engines on the pipes. Over the years, I accumulated a box of new/now old parts. So, I installed a new EGR valve, rear fuel tank sender and fuel pump, new auxiliary fuel pump, (old gas pickup screen clogged,) new fuel pressure regulator and a new ignition module. (All old, removed parts still working.) I installed a new washer pump. I spent weeks, (I work slow), under and into the van at four hours a day, (With old-person breaks.) cleaning, installing several parts and checking all belts, fluids and steel lines. (No sense wasting new parts.) A new carburetor and fuel filters were installed last year. A fuel pressure gauge is installed to monitor all fuel filters for clogging. (The engine does run lean already.) I have left all of the A/C and cat pumps in place. Everything works well. Like I said, drive it to California! I have spent a great deal of my retired-time to give you exactly what I have posted. I do need you to be happy with this van. Sorry, I cannot offer any warranty on this van. In all the years and all the miles we drove, this van has never broken down! I have no idea what the van is worth. The value book is stupid-low for this van. Hate to sell it. Must ask $9500 or better. Come and inspect and drive. (303 High St Hanson.) Call or email offers, (High or low). You will never see a super-nice eighty’s van like this again. Vessmuseumtech@aol.com.
