Vehicle has been collector owned and dealer maintained most of its life. Older restoration done to body and interior, with many recent upgrades. Restoration work to aesthetics was done about 15 years ago, whereas mechanical upgrades were done relatively recently
Body and paint areNICE DRIVER QUALITY. Nice and fairly straight with older paint. Minor blemishes like chips, scratches, touch-ups as you'd expect from being older but looks good and gets thumbs up anywhere including local car shows and cruise nights. No real rust to speak of, as outer panels lookVERY NICE,NO bubbles, NO clusters. Panel fit is good and doors open and close nicely
Interior looks VERYGOOD.Seats in good shape, Re-upolstered some time ago, same for the door panels. Carpet replaced around same time. BRAND NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP done professionally less than a week ago. Door panel armrests and sunvisorsalso recently redone. Overall a nice driver quality interior with normal wear.
Under the hood the 3.9L Flathead V8 has been UPGRADED with
1. Aluminum Radiator2) NEW 4bbl. Carburetor3) NEW tune-up4) 12 Volt Electric Conversion (replacing the unreliable 6 volt)5) NEW gas tank
STARTS RIGHT UP, IDLES GREAT AND YOU CAN GET IN AND DRIVE IT TODAY. Good brakes, SOLID clutch and good shifting transmission. Some play in the steering box as is common.
Underside is VERY SOLID as shown in pics. SOLID FRAME, GOOD FLOORS and SOLID TRUNK (trunk has been patched previously and professionally lined with carpet by upholstery shop and looks great. Also LOTS of original books and manuals.NOT PERFECT: No heat. May need a bulb or two replaced here and there as needed, no skirts, horn and radio not working. There may be a couple of other minor things I don't remember right now. PLEASE UNDERSTAND CAR IS NOWHERE NEAR PERFECT and will require going over, tlc, mild restoration depending on what you want to do with it.
Overall a NICE DRIVER QUALITY 1950 FORD DELUXE "SHOEBOX" CONVERTIBLE THAT IS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND IN GOOD SHAPE. FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME!!!
