Vehicle Description

For sale is a 1953 Ford f-600 stake truck that is partially restored. All of the work in the description will need to be done before it is complete. The truck has a 215 cu in straight 6 engine and a five-speed manual transmission, which have both been rebuilt by a reputable rebuilder. The truck also has newer wheels and 8.25 -20 tires with a date code of 2016. Many other new parts were installed. The vehicle is in running condition but should not be driven and will need to be transported on a trailer. It has a clear title with the state of Michigan. The truck is being sold as-is. We are not responsible for new parts that are not operating

Condition, Operation Concerns, Repair and Appearance Issues:

  • INOPERATIVE - Passenger car brake booster and master cylinder not designed for this vehicle
  • Brake lines are not flared correctly
  • Brakes remain stuck on and allow the truck to stop, but brakes cannot be completely released
  • Brake lights are not correctly functional
  • Weather seal installed backwards
  • Standard pipe elbows used instead of high-pressure hydraulic fittings
  • Hinges installed incorrectly
  • Incorrect bumper installed
  • Inoperative at this time, no provision for compensation when rear axle is shifted
  • Tachometer is inaccurate and needs to be adjusted
  • The car is equipped with an Eaton 2 speed rear axle
  • There has been no provision added for shifting this axle (current max speed is around 25mph)
  • Floorboard repaired incorrectly; dimmer switch is exposed to road debris from left front tire
  • Steering box was not rebuilt and has loose steering
  • King pin and spring bushings not replaced or inspected after sand blasting the frame
  • Kingpins are worn which cause loose steering

  • Master cylinder mounted under the floor beneath the seat
  • Fan shroud, radiator, and upper filler panel installed incorrectly – fenders and upper filler panel must be detached to remove radiator; correct radiator hose doesn’t fit
  • Exhaust system made up of unknown parts, header pipe rests on front axle; also has many exhaust leaks
  • Door window glass must be specially cut.
  • Door locks are swapped left and right (currently upside down).
  • Incorrect grille attaching bolts protrude into fender well
  • Cab floor extensions installed on wrong sides, protrude into front wheel wells
  • Fuel filler neck opening in cab incorrect shape, seal won’t fit.
  • Headlight trim rings glued on.
  • Running boards mounted too low, don’t fit fender contours
  • Cab shape is incorrect for left fender to fit properly
  • Generic welting was used between fenders and cab
  • Some rust holes in body not filled/repaired prior to painting
  • Hood does not fit correctly
  • Interior light will not shut off when doors are closed
  • Interior light switch is not installed correctly
  • Brake lights are not functioning
  • Aftermarket Horn
  • LED Taillights
  • Vent windows were eliminated
  • Chrome 1956 grille

This is not a total list of issues, but are ones that were found. The following items will need to be addressed before use. The vehicle is in running condition but should not be driven and will need to be transported on a trailer. It has a clear title with the state of Michigan. The truck is being sold as-is. We are not responsible for new parts that are not operating.
