Vehicle Description

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________********. ********************************. ********************************** If that sale fails for any reason this sale will stay open to future buyers.. I will then let you know the sale is open again to new buyers.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________IIt's time to let this one go. I built this car 40 years ago and have restored it about 4 times over those past 40 years, the last time was 5 years ago, when I had a local body shop paint it and I had a local upholsterer do a complete new interior. The frame is a 1930 Model A frame that I completely modified. It is completely boxed, has an X member in the center, and a tube crossmember under the engine to support it. The frame is powder coated in gloss black. The front suspension is based on a Super Bell 3 inch dropped axle, a Posies super slide front spring, 1948 Ford spindles, and 1948 Ford front brakes, custom made tubular wishbones, and chrome Carrera shocks.. All of these parts have been rebuilt and are powder coated in gloss black too.The 9 inch Ford rear end assembly is from a 1968 Mercury Montego, with a Summit Racing posi-traction center section with 4:10 gears. Everything on the rear end was rebuilt 5 years ago including the brand new, at the time, Summit center section. It is supported by a modified Model A rear spring, chrome Carrera shocks, and has custom rear wishbones made of 1 inch chromemoly tubing, with Speedway clevises installed. The Steering box is from a 1954 Ford pickup, with a 1956 steering column modified to fit it. The transmission is a very hard to find 1968 Ford 3 speed stickshift transmission that came out of a 390 cubic inch car, so it is VERY TOUGH. The shifter is a Hurst 3 speed shifter . The driveshaft is a custom made driveshaft from Dennys Driveline. I'm guessing at the mileage, because I have never hooked up the speedometer in 40 years !The engine was professionally built 1978 302 Ford by Mike Thompson Racing Engines, that has a Scat Forged crankshaft assembly with forged rods and pistons. So the new cubic inch displacement is now 331 cubic inches. It has a Ford Racing X303 camshaft and all heavy duty things like oil pump, timing chain, lifters, etc. The heads are aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM heads with Crane roller rockers. This engine idles at 800 rpms, with oil pressure that sits at 60 PSI all the time. The motor has an Offenhauser dual 4 barrel intake with two 600 CFM Edelbrock carbs. It is dressed up with Edelbrock high rise aluminum valve covers and a lot of other chrome pieces. I raced this car one time at the Nostalgia drag races, and it ran 7:90 in the 1/8 mile with slicks on it, and went right down the track straight as an arrow. The body is a Speedway glass body that I reinforced with marine grade plywood flooring and complete side pieces, glassed in, and filled with expandable foam. I had this body professionally painted 5 years ago in base coat/clear coat and new upholstery done at the same time. The grille shell is a chopped Speedway shell with a Dan Fink custom made grille insert, and housing a custom made Brassworks radiator that keeps this car below 180 even on the hottest day in Florida. It has a Scotts electric fan that keeps it cool too.The windshield is a Speedway chrome 1927 windshield that I chopped and had custom automotive glass installed professionally. Gauges are marine gauges so they stand up to getting wet, should that happen. The car has a custom aluminum 13 gallon fuel tank. I have a log book to give the buyer that shows what part numbers I used to build this car. By the way, I am 5' 9" tall, and 180 pounds, so it was built around me. If you are much bigger than that, it might be hard for you to fit inside it and drive it.....just so you know.An Ebayer just asked me if this car has doors, a top, and windows. No, it doesn't. It is a hot rod that you step into and sit down. I've done that for 40 years with no problems whatsoever. Hope this clears this up.The car has 4 BRAND NEW radial whitewalls ($1400.00), new battery, and new oil change and filter. Ready for Spring and Summer use ! If you have any questions, let me know. I will also assist in any way I can if you need to ship this car to you somewhere else. Before the car is picked up it must be paid for in CASH or a CASHIERS CHECK that must clear the bank before you receive the car. No exceptions.A Ebay member just asked me to measure the height of the body where you have to step inside, and I did measure it for him. It is about 36 inches at the highest point and since I am 80 years old I am still able to step inside. Hope this helps others.
