Vehicle Description

This is a rare 1971 ford econoline 4x4 camper van purchased from a private seller in Hawaii not long ago on ebay. Little did I know how friggin high off the ground this thing is. I am 55yo and my knees are completely shot and getting up into this thing was a matter of time till I busted my melon. No matter how much you love something, breaking a hip aint worth it. So Im cutting it loose. That plus the resto of my other econoline van a 1973is eating me out of house and home. Ive elected to stay closer to the ground and focus on one. This was found in a barn in Minnesota by the sellers dad. It was taken to seattle to be cleaned up and the father shipped it to his son in Hawaii where it was restored with focus on the drivetrain and turned into a reliable 4x4 rig that became known as the 808 van on the big island. There are multiple You Tubes on this rig taken not long ago. Have a look. She runs way better than my mint 73 which rattles my teeth out.I was told by seller the motor, tranny and t case were restored recently as well as all 4X running gear. Hubs all repacked, ya know the usual. The interior is all there but I have no idea what truly works. That means frig, stove etc no idea and I aint messin with it. Curtains and interior body panels are pretty decent and there. Of course some little drilling here and there to put hasps or god knows what else in last 46 years. Has a funky Hawaii seaside smell inside. Has a driver swivel chair. Little play in it. Gauges good. So if there is anything really to do on this van its find all the little knobs and trim inside and tits it out. The big stuff is all there. The body is nice. some superficial rust as expected. I see no rotted out sections. Body work was done. Some sections nice. Others a bit rougher. Paint is surprisingly good. Camper shell fabric will need some attention as its stiff from the years. Most importantly you better be fit to haul your carcass up into this beast. There is a small ladder inside that helps. Will certainly need some custom nerf bars of steps. I can put you in touch with son in Hawaii if needed. It hasn't left my driveway since purchase except fuel run.
