1970 Dodge Charger 500 Hardtop (R/T Upgraded)

Vehicle Description
This 1970 Dodge Charger 500 remained under original ownership until it was acquired by my father in 2005. We have worked together on the car over the years and just finished a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment (Finished July 2025). The car was fitted with an R/T conversion package, which included installing a 440ci Magnum V8 (rebuilt in 2025), A727 transmission, upgraded rear ratio and upgraded body kit with R/T markings.
The exterior is finished in Plum Crazy and features a black vinyl roof, hideaway headlights, a black tail stripe, and R/T emblems, and the cabin is trimmed in black vinyl upholstery. Further equipment includes 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels, power steering, unassisted front disc brakes, an AM radio, and an A727 three-speed automatic. We have 2025 invoices and a clean California title.
The car left the factory finished in Plum Crazy (FC7) with a black vinyl roof, and it was repainted after dent repairs were completed during the 2025 refurbishment. Styling details include a black tail stripe, hideaway headlamps, R/T emblems, side scoops, and a chrome rear bumper, window surrounds, and trim.
Magnum 500-style 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. The front wheel seals, brake pads, rotors, and rear shocks were replaced during the 2025 refurbishment.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl and are joined by color-coordinated replacement carpets. Interior amenities include a center armrest, an AM radio, and lap belts. The A/C and heater core are not installed, but there is a blower (wires disconnected).
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a replacement gauge cluster with a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and alternator charge. All gauges are operational. An aftermarket oil pressure gauge is fitted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, approximately 650 of which were added under current ownership.
When we purchased the car in 2005, the previous seller performed the R/T conversion (engine, transmission, body kit). The engine received a replacement fan clutch, thermostat, valve covers, gaskets, spark plugs, and fluids in 2025. The four-barrel carburetor was also rebuilt in preparation for the sale.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed A727 automatic transmission that received a fluid service during the refurbishment. Additional work in 2025 included degreasing, sanding, priming, and repainting the underbody black.
