Vehicle Description
'69 Dodge Sweptline D300/ like D100Groovy Camper!43k miles one ownerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHWwdjprU1s- Cort's Groovy Sweptline Camper! It's hard to decide where to start with the description on this one. First of all - this was a one owner truck prior to me purchasing it. It had spent the last 30 plus years in dry, clean, rodent free, climate controlled storage. No mice, rats or any other pests have been in this truck or camper. When I went into the camper I couldn't even find any dead flies - it is that clean. Since it has been stored inside, there has been no water penetration anywhere in the camper, not even a spot on the ceiling, amazing! I did remove some of the contact paper that was on the ceiling because after 50 plus years, the glue had dried out and it was coming down in places. I have had the camper plugged in and the air conditioner and refrigerator both work. The a/c cools it down nicely. This is truly a time capsule - the seat cushions, mattress, and curtains are in like new condition. The fridge still has the stickers on it, all the manuals are present. I have not tried anything water related or the stove - but I would be surprised if anything needs much work to operate properly. The pickup was purchased new in Ordway Colorado and went to Haswell Co., where the family had a service station - hence the lettering on the doors. In 1972, they purchased a new camper from Meade Mfg. - in Meade K.S., and had it installed, completing the beautiful rig you see today. The truck has 43K miles on it, and had had a mere 200 miles since 1984 - as you can see from the service reminder on the door. This truck is equipped with a 383 engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. Since removing the truck from storage I have installed a new fuel tank, a new water pump, new belts and hoses, and changed the oil, as well as installing a new alternator. I even shot a little freon in the truck A/C and it got ice cold! Although the compressor is a little noisy, so I didn't run it more than a few minutes. There are a few things that the truck needs - first of all is a radiator. It doesn't leak at all, but is partially plugged from setting all those years, not much of a temp drop from top to bottom with it running. I found aluminum radiators on eBay for $150ish but I thought I would leave this to the next owner in case they want it original - you could probably get this one rodded out or re-cored. The other thing is the tires, they hold air fine and are not weather checked, but are flat spotted from setting so long. This is all original paint that shines nicely, NO rust anywhere, not even the beginnings of any rust, as rust free as you will ever find. The engine starts right up and sounds great, great oil pressure, I'm sure it could use plugs and wires as they are likely the originals, but it runs fine the way it is. I also installed a new master cylinder. I bench bled the master cylinder, but was by myself, so the brakes could use a little bleeding, just a little spongy but they work.I am sure there are some things I'm missing, and please call or text Cort at 620-786-5172 with any questions. It is hard to value something like this, so I'm starting at $9500, but feel free to shoot me an offer. This truck has a clear open Kansas title, and it will have free outdoor storage until you are able to come get itThanks for looking!
