1951 Dodge Pilot House Pickup Truck - Restomod

Vehicle Description
1951 Dodge Pilot House B3B Pickup Restomod. Professionally done by owner with over 50 years experience in building hot rods. Truck was originally restored in 2000 in California. Owner sold around 2002 to person in Florida. Truck sat in storage until I purchased in 2024. Restomod consists of following: 1995 GMC S15 chassis, shortened and modified to fit truck. Utilized factory mounts from Dodge frame and installed with new body mounts. Rear axle is from 1969 El Camino and is completely rebuilt with new 3.73 gear. New posi, new axles, bearings, seals and brakes. All new brake lines throughout. New calipers, rotors, bearings and seals on front brakes. New master cylinder and proportional valve. Engine is 355 Chevy small block with Eagle balanced rotating assembly, late model heads, mild Comp cam, Weiand intake, and Holley 600 Street Avenger carb. HEI distributor, stainless headers, and mandrel bent 2-1/4" exhaust, with Speedway mufflers. New 105 amp alternator, water pump, P/S pump, pulleys and belts. Also has new gear reduction starter. Front end has new steering sector, sway bar bushings, and shocks. New three row aluminum radiator with Derale electric high output fan. Truck will not run hot and cruises at 70 plus mph at 185-190 degrees in the Mississippi heat. Transmission is new Tremec TKX 5 speed. Truck runs at 70 mph and 2400 rpm in 5th gear. Can cruise all day long at 70-80mph. Gets around 16-17mpg in all around driving. New aluminum fuel tank holds a little over 11 gallons. Completely rewired truck with new gauges and switches and all new lighting. Additional Autometer mechanical temp gauge was added due to inaccuracy of electric temp gauge. Cab has been completely insulated. Only minor rust was in floor and it was replaced when floor was modified for new engine and trans. Electric seats are from 2013 VW Touareg. Door glasses have all new glass runs and window regulators cleand and lubed. New vent window rubber seals and doors have new weatherstrips. Cab is quiet and cool due to all the extra insulation. No rattles or squeaks, either. Drives like a new S15 truck. Clutch is a new assembly from Ram with hydraulic throwout bearing and Wilwood master cylinder. Low pedal effort, very easy to drive. Front cap was stripped and fenders and front headlight panel were welded in one piece. Custom grille and frenched headlights were installed. Fenders and hood have been repainted in green metallic. Have enough paint to do doors and rest of cab, but have not finished them. Bed needs nothing done to it. Has new cypress wood flooring. The cab and doors have some rust bubbling in the bottom of the doors and top of cab. You can see these in the pictures. This is the only rust on the truck and was caused by the original restorer not prepping the body right in these places and then putting the truck in storage in Florida for 20 plus years. Graphics on doors are decals and can be easily removed, if needed. Truck is located in northeast Missisippi, just northeast of Columbus. I can deliver truck in a 500 mile radius for an addtional fee, if that helps. Can assist with any loading at my location. Will accept cashiers check, personal check, or cash. DON'T do Paypal. Truck cannot leave my possesion until any checks clear my bank. Will work with buyer on the transaction. I am very easy to do business with. I can be reached at 601-983-8848 with any additional questions, or message me through Ebay. Truck is also for sale locally, so it is possible that sale could end early.
