1976 DATSUN 280Z5 SPEED, A/C
The 280Z needs no introduction. The 280Z evolved from the 240Z which was the first production offering of a true GT sports car from Japan. The Zs have become legendary for their reliable spirited performance and beautiful lines. This extremely desirable vintage Datsun is very original and is ready to enjoy.
The paint is a respray in the original light metallic blue. The paint looks great and is nice and shiny but shows its age upon close inspection. There are chips on the nose of the car. The body is razor straight and has never been hit or bondo'd up. There is a small ding in the driver's door visible in the photos. Please see the lack of rust in the underside photos-something most ads don't include and you have to ask yourself; "Why?". The chrome is spectacular with no flaws on the bumpers other than the rubber trim at the right rear has a tear-see photos. The car has been in California its entire life and still wears its original blue/yellow license plates (registered till March 2026).
The interior is completely original except for new seat coverings and a dash cover. The door panels are mint, as is the rear luggage area and unique vinyl covering throughout. The headliner is flawless. The clock does not work.
The engine is a slightly later 280Z engine and 5 speed combination. It starts and runs perfectly. It doesn't leak, smoke or make wrong noises. The transmission and clutch operate beautifully.
