Here is the chance to own one of the most beautiful cars ever produced – 1972 Citroen DS21 Pallas, also known as the “Goddess”!
For a human being 53 years is a good amount of time, but to an automobile it’s an eternity! The ravages of time aren’t just from nature. Tastes change, trends die, and once-envied designs have a way of looking absurd. Once in a while though, an automobile endures despite all this, and ultimately, becomes a classic! That car is the Citroen DS!!!
The Citroën DS gained acclaim for its aerodynamic, futuristic body design and pioneering technology that revolutionized ride quality, handling, and braking. It was the first mass-produced car to incorporate hydropneumatic suspension, disc brakes, and directional headlights starting in 1967. With Citroën's established front-wheel drive, the DS achieved competitive success in rally racing over its nearly two-decade production period, earning multiple notable victories.
Topping the model range, this Pallas version comes equipped with a 2,175cc inline four-cylinder engine mated to a 4 manual transmission.
The Citroën DS has been a favorite of many celebrities and prominent figures, includingFrench President Charles de Gaulle, who famously survived an assassination attempt in one. De Gaulle famously stated that he owed his life to the DS and vowed never to ride in another make of car!!
Famous TV Host Jay Leno owns a Citroen DS as well, and he also says it’s one of his favorite cars out of his huge car collection!!
About the car:
Up for sale is 1972 Citroen DS21 Pallas! I purchased this Citroen with the intention of doing full restoration, but as life happens, and having a couple of other projects going on at this time, I reluctantly decided to sell this beauty.
This DS is all original and complete, but it will need full restoration as it was sitting idle for a long time, and time did its toll on its body.
Engine spins freely and even the original radio is still working (please see the video below)!!!
-Interior
Its elegant and very classy original dark brown leather interior is all complete, but it will need to be reupholstered. Being a luxury top of the line Pallas model, its interior is done in full leather!
Seats are still very comfortable, and interior is complete down to its original Jaeger Clock and Clarion Radio (which still works!)
This DS comes with its tools, as well as some spare parts, including the nice and solid trunk lid (pictured).
Parts for these cars are easily available and best part they are very reasonably priced, unlike some of its other European counterparts (Mercedes-Benz for example). Great source of parts in USA for these cars ishttps://citroendsparts.com and you can find pretty much anything there - from Sheetmetal body parts to rubber and trim pieces, and everything else in between!!
Also in Europe an amazing place to have these beauties restored is Deluxe & Prestige Cars in Romania, and its Master Restorer Goran Popov who knows these Citroens inside and out, and every restoration features totally Galvanized bodies, solving rust issues for a very long time!!
With its elegant color combination, and its classic lines, there are not a lot of cars like Classic “Goddes” on the road!!
