Owner’s Description

“For sale is a 1955 Chrysler C-300 with a unique story and plenty of heart. This was my late father’s project car—his retirement dream was to paint it and enjoy driving it. Sadly, he passed before he could see it completed, though he did get to see it freshly painted in a stunning Candy Apple 3-stage metallic red (originally white). Over the past 10 years, I’ve carefully finished assembling the trim and brought the car to its current condition. While not a perfect showpiece, it turns heads everywhere and carries a lot of character. Under the hood is a powerful 392 HEMI (replacing the original 331), paired with a rebuilt 2-speed Powerflite automatic. It retains its original 6-volt system and features power windows, power brakes, power steering, and dual quad carbs topped with a rare Batwing air cleaner. The car has 4-wheel drum brakes, with new brake shoes and cylinders all around. It rides on re-chromed wire wheels (not original), which have developed some surface rust. Inside, the car has been fully refreshed with new leather upholstery, carpet, headliner, and trunk lining. The trunk floor has been treated for rust and painted with gray enamel. Chrome has been redone on about 98% of the car, and the stainless side trim has been straightened and polished. Other upgrades include a new battery, new seat belts, new steering box, new mufflers, and new windshield and rear glass seals. The radio works, and the tires have good tread but are aging—fine for local cruising. The car has been garage-kept since it was painted and comes with a clean title. I’ll also include the door seals I have on hand. This C-300 is a beautiful tribute to a vision that was nearly complete—and a perfect opportunity for someone to finish the last chapter and enjoy a true classic.”
