1968 Chrysler 300 Convertible

You are bidding a 1968 Chrysler 300 2 door convertible. Rare! Mopar only built 2,161 Chrysler 300 convertibles in 1968. Strong running Mopar 440 V-8 (350 HP) backed with the bullet-proof 727 Torqueflite Automatic transmission. Car runs and drives great! This super cool Mopar is a real survivor and is all factory original.

Body

All the sheet metal is clean and very straight. I’ve owned many Mopar over the years and this one of the nicest original cars I’ve seen. Very solid body and frame. Very little rust. Truck pan is excellent. Paint appears to be original but shows normal age-related fading. All the chrome trim moldings are present – not perfect but very presentable. Bumpers are original chrome and shine up great! This car still has its original factory 15” wheel covers. The flip headlights work great! 3 of the 4 power windows work. One rear window needs a motor (NOS replacement power window motor is included in the sale). The convertible top opens and retracts smoothly without any issues. The white top currently on the car will need replacing. A new black top kit and glass back window will be included with the car. This car is 99% factory original. It was born a factory red car. Body panels are extremely clean, straight and solid.

Mechanical

This vintage Chrysler 300 runs strong. The 440 engine has plenty of power and the transmission upshifts and downshifts smoothly. Car accelerates great! Previous owner stated the carb was rebuilt. Brakes work well.

Fresh dual exhaust.

Rebuilt carb.

New radiator

The engine and transmission are the correct 1968 units. Powertrain appears to be original to the car

Interior

The black interior is in very nice presentable condition. The dash pad is excellent! No age cracks. The door panels and rear panels are in great condition.

Summary

This is an all original unmolested 1968 original Chrysler 300 that can be driven and enjoyed just the way it is, and still turn heads. Very cool(Red and Black) original factorycolor combination.Paint is weathered and aged but all the body panels are clean and straight.With a fresh paint job and some detailing this very cool car would be a rare Mopar convertible head turner.
