Offered here is 1 of 2 specially designed Chrysler Camera Car built in 1947 for Howard Hughes by the Chrysler Special Car Order Department built specifically for film production.The second one built in 1950 was in the Petersen museum until sold recently.This was designed with dual controls on driver and passenger side with a rear window that rolled down for easy communication between director and driver with easy access for maintenance under the hood, missing scaffolding that made it easier to film from all sides,These innovations set the standard for professional camera vehicles paving the way for the modern custom built film trucks used today.A rare and historically significant vehicle of both cinematic and automotive history as is with a working engine and trans.Have more old black and white pictures from the Chrysler archives of the truck while it was being built from 1947 with all the special details to complete restoration along with the Chrysler Special Car Order Form that came with the vehicle hidden folded behind the id plate on the firewall.If any further questions please ask thanks
