This is my 1972 Chevrolet Vega. In 1984 it was built into the street beast it is today. The rear end is an 8.2” from a 1963 Chevrolet Nova. It has 4.56 rear gears with a posi. Axles have been redrilled to 5 lug to accept Camaro / Nova bolt pattern wheels. Air shocks and aftermarket (I think Hotchkis) trailing arms. It has been in the car since it was built in 1984. Still going strong 41 years after installation. The car has seen many different engine / transmission combinations over the years but currently has a 383 cubic inch SBC crate engine from Summit Racing rated at 425 horsepower. It runs Trick Flow heads and other nice parts. Last picture details the engine more. The transmission is a TH350 with a 3200 stall.

The car runs excellent with no issues. I only drive it if the temperature is below 85 degrees because with no air conditioning and it being a black car I just can’t deal with the heat. But when I do drive it it runs fine with no over heating. It has an electric fan and fuel pump. The factory gas tank has been replaced with a fuel cell. I’ll just say this is a 53 year old car with manual brakes and manual steering with 425 horsepower. It is not for the faint of heart. It rides like a tank. It is noisy. It is basically a toy you better respect it because it can kill you. But it is incredibly fun to drive around and gets smiles and thumbs up wherever it goes.

The interior is pretty average for a 53 year old car. No rear seat, otherwise complete. The body is rough but not destroyed. All rust it has is clearly shown in the pictures. This car has no rust in the usual places. Under the hood is 100% solid as are the floors and rockers. There are sub frame connectors installed since 1984. This car was and is built right and a nice start to whatever you want to do. I have just used it as a street warrior that I drive to work about 10 times a year. The current engine / transmission combination was installed about 6 years ago and has about 1500 miles on it now and has no known problems. I have been able to just jump in and drive it worry free. It’s pretty much all sorted out, ready to go. I only drive it around town because the 4.56 gears and 26” tire do not allow for freeway driving.

Set of driver and passenger doors with glass

Decent set of used front fenders, driver and passenger

New key lock set for doors and trunk

2 totes full of miscellaneous parts collected over the years

Organizers full of interior and exterior screws and trim parts, anything and everything you may need, clips switches, rubber bumpers etc. A lot of stuff you will appreciate having.

Decent dash pad, at least better than what is in it currently

Other things I am certainly forgetting

I am located in Marshalltown Iowa if you would like to see the car. It is 100% in driving, ready to go condition as it sits. It needs a ton of work to go to the next level or you can just drive it as the road warrior it is as I have done for years. No factory gauges work but has working tach, oil, temperature and voltage gauges. Turn signals work but have to be manually activated. There is probably much more I am forgetting or you want to know so feel free to ask.
