Vehicle Description

1973 Chevrolet Corvette LS4 – Matching Numbers 454 V8 | 4-Speed Manual | High-End Repaint | $3,500+ in Mechanical Work

This listing is for a 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray powered by its original, matching-numbers LS4 454 cubic inch V8 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Finished in factory-correct Blue-Green Metallic (Paint Code 945) over Saddle Brown (Trim Code 422), this car represents a unique opportunity to own a one-year-only Corvette with rare specs and extensive recent investment.

Odometer displays 29,565 miles (TMU – True Mileage Unknown). Non-A/C option car. Clean Florida title in my name.

About the 1973 Corvette – A Transition Year with Collector Significance

The 1973 model marked a key turning point in Corvette history. It was the first year to adopt the federally required urethane front bumper while retaining the classic chrome rear bumper, making it a one-year-only body configuration. It was also the final year before catalytic converters and tighter emissions regulations began significantly reducing performance.

Only 4,412 Corvettes were built in 1973 with both the LS4 454ci V8 and 4-speed manual transmission, making this an increasingly difficult configuration to find, especially with its original engine intact. The LS4 was rated at 275 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, delivering authentic big-block performance with minimal restrictions.

Mechanical Condition – Over $3,500 in Recent Work

All major mechanical needs were addressed recently by professionals, with receipts included:

  • New rear main seal

  • Oil pan gasket

  • Valve cover gaskets

  • Exhaust manifold service

  • Complete parking brake system rebuild

  • All fluids changed

Pictures included

The engine runs strong and smooth, and the 4-speed shifts perfectly. The car tracks straight, brakes confidently, and drives like a properly maintained C3 should. Tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paws with excellent tread.

Exterior – Factory-Correct High-End Repaint

The car underwent a full repaint in the original factory color (Code 945 Blue-Green Metallic). The project was completed over two months with meticulous attention to detail. No shortcuts were taken — the body was properly prepped, painted, and fully cut and buffed. This is a $10,000–$15,000 quality paint job depending on region, and the results speak for themselves. There are no cracks, scratches, or imperfections in the fiberglass or paint. I did this with a professional and worked for two months almost every day learning tons of information. It was a really amazing experience. Feel free to ask me about everything involved

Interior & Known Needs

  • Wiper arms are currently removed and need replacement. They are still included

  • Headlights are not functioning correctly (recommend electric conversion over vacuum)

  • Carpet is original and could be refreshed with a molded replacement kit, but is serviceable

  • Radio and speakers are partially functioning. I would replace.

Passenger side tan vinyl on small area peeled off during paint process (pictured), needs to be sprayed with SEM brand TAN

Back of seats have cracks, design flaw from Chevy, happens regardless due to back pushing seat.

These are minor interior cosmetic and functional issues that do not affect the car’s mechanical performance.

Ownership & Story Behind the Sale

I am a private seller, not a dealer. I purchased the car from an older individual in Naples, Florida. While no original paperwork came with it, the car retains its matching-numbers big block and is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition.

This car was a tribute project for my father, who passed away. It was his dream spec: big block, 4-speed, and this exact color combination. With no prior experience, I committed to this, working daily with a perfectionist who taught me every step of the process. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Now, at 24 years old, I’m selling to shift focus toward other life goals. The sale will help fund my future, and I hope the next owner will appreciate the work and meaning behind this build.
