1962 Superior Crown Sovereign Landau Combination (Hearse / Ambulance)

I encourage you or a third party to inspect /drive the vehicle.

Odometer shows 49,500 Speedo ino, no way to verify the total mileage.

60+ years old, far from perfect but not a rust bucket. Minor rust spots, no rust out anywhere.

Solid body, frame, rockers. Nice interior for its age.

Drives and stops great.

Superior made 126 combinations in 62, probably only a small percentage were crowns.

Crowns where Superiors top of the line model.

Has dash controls for sirens lights etc. No siren or lights present. Possible only used for transport or removals rather than any type of ambulance work.

Has optional suicide doors

Suicide doors have an interesting safety interlock system. Not operational at this time.

The system is vacuum operated and needs new vacuum lines run to the dash switch.

Suicide doors lock / unlock when vacuum is applied to them.

Work done to bring it back to road worthy. 4 tires replaced with new extra load tires.

All brake shoes replaced front and rear axles. All 4-wheel cylinders replaced.

All flex brake hoses replaced 2 front 1 rear. All 4 brake drums turned

Master cylinder rebuilt. Brake Booster Rebuilt with New Check Valve

Brake system flushed and new fluid installed

Front wheel bearings cleaned and repacked grease seals replaced,

Rear axle seals replaced.

Differential drained and refilled.

Power steering hoses replaced, new p/s fluid

Transmission fluid drained and refilled

Radiator pressure checked and rodded out. New Antifreeze installed

All belts replaced

All engine hoses replaced (radiator and heater hoses)

New thermostat new radiator cap

Plugs replaced, plug wires replaced

New plug wire insulators.

Air Filter Replaced fuel filter replaced

New fuel pump and fuel flex lines, new fuel tank filler hose, fuel tank flushed

Carb Rebuilt

Has Pertronix ignition system (Installed by PO)

Converted to alternator by PO.

Valve cover gaskets replaced.

Oil change and filter

Chassis lubrication.

Rear Carpet Replaced

New Curtains

Gurney and cot bar included

Rear leaf springs and front coils look to be recent replacements, rides great.

Has a nicely done dual exhaust system.

Known issues, slight exhaust leak rt side, drivers' door glass, crack bottom rt, left second door glass also bottom crack. Shown in pics, is flat laminated glass.

Windshield slight pitting, one small chip. Shown in pics.

Lt back up light inop

Rear heater disconnected, will need new heater hoses run to it for it to be functional.

Speedo inop

Dash lights inop

Dash pad cracked.

Cornering lights inop

Has add on A/C complete but not operational. Have not tried to diagnose.

Rear bumper has 2 small rusted out holes. Shown in pics.

This bumper blade can also be sourced from a regular 61/62 Caddy or repaired and re chromed

Rear half of the roof is crinkle finish, which is dead, either reapply a crinkle finish or strip and paint.
