Vehicle Description

1978 Cadillac Coupe deVille Cotillion White 2 Door Clean 91K Miles AS-IS GARAGE KEPT LOW BEST OFFER/BUY IT NOW BEAUTIFUL!Read entire listing. Lots of info provided- this car runs, drives, and stops. Perfect as a weekend cruiser. Could be made into a daily driver with some TLC. I have detailed as much possible with the car that I can, with a 47 year-old car it is always possible there are other items needing attention.*Relisted due to non-paying winner*Selling my 1978 Coupe deVille. I no longer have time to enjoy the car and now need to make space in my garage for wife's new car. The car has been garage kept and winterized. I have put less than 700 miles in 7 years (roughly 91K total), I thought I would have more time to enjoy it but just didn't unfortunately. Has the bulletproof 425 cu in. engine, proven smooth transmission TH400.The car is a weekend driver, could be easily turned into a daily driver. I get stopped with compliments and stares whenever I drive it. Has a lot of newer parts and restoration and I have a ton of cosmetic parts from various sources that I will try to include. This is by no means a show car, but something nice to enjoy immediately and then continue to DIY some stuff if you're handy. The items needing attention do not prevent driveability, so if you are good with cars this is a steal.I have tried to capture everything with the car possible for a fair representation. There's a lot of positives and a few known issues with the car that I will try to be upfront as I can. As you can see, I am being forthcoming on details both pros and cons as much possible, most sellers will not give you such a breakdown.Positives/upgrades

  • Restored Steering wheel center cover
  • Restored driver's side seat upholstery
  • Decent condition interior
  • Beautiful respray of exterior paint with original Cotillion White Paint (previous owner)
  • Vinyl top recently sealed with clear sealer and flake- depending on light, has shimmer effect
  • Blade battery kill switch at terminal installed
  • Rear bumper impact strips/bumperettes installed (rare)
  • 3 sets of wheel covers included
  • Newer tires (less than 700 miles on them)
  • Whitewall tire stickers applied (previous owner installed blackwall tires)
  • Chrome is in very good condition all around, no rusting or pitting
  • Power locks and windows working
  • Clock working
  • No warning lights
  • Car starts right up!
  • Front shocks included for replacing (previous owner left them for me)
  • Garage kept, very little exposure to rain and no snow over last 7 years

  • Cosmetic customizations - Red Coupe deVille emblems, white rubber trim
  • Custom horn (previous owner installed)

Needs attention
  • Slow battery drain (I think it's related to wiring from some accessory or the amp the previous owner installed, haven't had time to identify but I use the blade switch to preserve if storing for a week or more)
  • Transmission fluid drip from pan gasket (common on TH400 if sitting, I just top off if needed. No issues with trans- you can easily fix)
  • Gas gauge not always accurate
  • AC could use recharge (purchased from previous owner this way)
  • Right/passenger door has 2 small indentations (purchased from previous owner this way, not obvious unless looking)
  • Vinyl top was refreshed with dye and sealer (not perfect, shows regular wear, but looks good. If you need a perfect car, this is not it)
  • Headlights do not always engage (common issue, foot pedal wiring for high beams is culprit)
  • Power antenna non-functional (purchased from previous owner this way)
  • Power pull down trunk & release non-functional (purchased from previous owner this way, some parts to repair included, manual close works fine)
  • Front shocks could be replaced (according to previous owner, was OK for me)
  • Usual dash cracks on top (cosmetic only)
  • Leather interior and carpet shows wear and a few repairs but overall decent condition (see pics)
I hate to sell it, but need to start prepping for space clearing. Car runs and drives fine, I've only kept it local and babied it so it hasn't been exposed to rain or snow. There may be other things you want to address, but it's a great affordable classic car to weekend drive and continue to invest in.Car is sold AS-IS with no warranty implied. Just remember it's a 47+ year old car so it's got its quirks. Gets a ton of attention wherever I drive it, looks great with tinted windows and the sound system.Serious buyers only. No reserve auction as I need to make space. $500 deposit will be due upon winning. Clean NJ title in hand. Cross posted, so auction could end at anytime. Buyer must arrange and responsible for transportation/shipping, tow, or drive after purchase.
