Vehicle Description
You are looking at a 1970 Buick GS 455. It's 1 of 3,555 built for 1970.This is a project car for an experienced builder. However,it can be restored by a person who just loves to tinker when they are able. Now,I need to let you know right off the bat that this car is rare but it has been off the road since 1997. The original 455 is gone as whoever had never changed the oil. It is now equipped with a date coded 1969 430 4 barrel. I broke the motor loose and got it running. This car needs quite a bit of. I am going to sugar coat anything. The body is pretty rust free-however,where the original vinyl top was will need some attention in the trim areas. There is also little bit under the trunk lid and where the battery tray is. There is a small amount where and old battery tray meet the inner fender and core support. There is nothing to worry about structure wise. The drivers side wheel skirt has an area of rust as well. This car will need new front glass as the area I mentioned where top needs attention around the A-pillars.The original interior is in good condition with the seats and original brocade being nearly flawless. It will need to have electronics revived. The car is loaded with options. Power windows, seats, locks, trunk, cruise control,AC,rear defroster, cornering lights, factory wheels and the rear original under dash Buick 8-trackMost interior pieces, trim pieces and some body pieces can be sourced from a 1967-1969 Riviera. However-this is a one year body style. The fuel system and carb should be cleaned and after that-she does run and sounds super good. All fluids are up to level. The 430 engine is 360 horsepower which 10 less than the 455 so it's still going to incinerate a set of tires. The rear end is a posi as well. Both rear wheels turn at the same time. This car is going to need quite a bit of attention but when it's worked on more-it will be a good investment. The prices on these cars are not cheap-and this is an opportunity to get one thousands less than pretty much anything out there for a car that is very complete. I just needed to let you know what to expect so there are no surprises. This car is non-op. It will NOT driver on to a shipping truck-and will need to be winched up to ship. With some more work-it will be a driver however it is not at the current time. Please do not expect to jump in it and go cruising that day. It needs attention. I planned on doing the work myself however I am not equipped to take this one on. I could have 5 years-when I was a bit more able-bodied-but I can't do the work anymore.I hope this car goes to someone who has always wanted one of these-here you go.It has good bones to work with but it's a project for sure.I hope this describes the car in great detail for you. I do not want to lead anyone on.
