Vehicle Description

STK 3993 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BJ8 British Motor Corporation announced the Austin Healey 3000 MKIII in February 1964 and the MKIII remained in production through 1967. This handsome '67 Healey 3000 Mark III BJ-8 was carefully restored and is an excellent example of the last 'Big Healey'. The owner has provided a package of information/receipts to document the restoration and maintenance of the roadster over the years. A Certified Copy of the Factory Record from the British Motor Heritage Trust dated 2014 is also furnished. The exterior was refinished in Colorado Red and Black and is in very good condition. A new black soft top and tonneau cover are fitted and stunning 4.5Jx15" 72-spoke (upgrade from factory 60-spoke) chrome wire-wheels mount new Michelin radial tires. A pair of period-correct fog lights completes the exterior package. The interior was reupholstered in black leather (2014) and, along with a burled walnut veneer dash and custom wood wheel, is very impressive. (original wheel furnished) Other features include a heater, adjustable steering column, rear 'jump seats' and Sony AM/FM/CD sound system (needs TLC). As for the rest of the interior, look at the photos again - this passenger compartment is very impressive. The factory 2.9L OHV in-line six is said to have never required a rebuild. It is equipped with dual HD8/SU carbs and output was rated at 150bhp. Electrics are 12 volt and the factory 4-speed transmission is fitted with a 9" clutch (new) and fully functioning Laycock/Normanville 0.82 ratio overdrive unit. The stock differential gearing is 3.91:1 and the clean chassis is fitted with front coil springs, six-leaf rear springs and hydraulic lever shocks. A stainless exhaust system has been installed and brakes are manual Girling 11" disc/drum. If you have always wanted an Austin Healy 3000 MKIII, do not delay. This is your Healey – act post-haste. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
