Let me start by saying….I’ve had MANY cars, and have sold MANY cars…. But THIS CAR….. It's the first time I’ve ever seen such a CLEAN and original, ALMOST NEW 80’s car.
It drives LIKE a car with 20K miles. The Timing belt was original. The tires (Pirelli’s) were ORIGINAL. (included with sale)
I took time to check all vacuum lines, all rubber grommets, all components that may decompose or otherwise fair or break… and ANYTHING needing replacing was. Fortunately, because it was stored in a climate controlled garage,… ALL parts and components have been preserved! The original timing belt is surprisingly strong and good, HOWEVER for safe measures… I replaced it. Along with a water pump and all fluids. I also put on 4 new tires, however I will include the OEM Pirellis with the car.
This is a GRAY MARKET car, imported to the USA from Neckarsulm from Germany in summer of 1980. This was only discovered when I was looking for replacement belts. I had to buy parts from Germany to do service.

This is one of the first FUEL INJECTED cars of its kind. Its also a COUPE, which is even cooler.

~ 1980 Audi 4000 2.2L inline 5cyl. This car is basically new. It drives like new. PAINT is original and like NEW. There are minor scratches due to simple age. RUST?? NONE. This car BARELY left a climate controlled garage. ALL gauges work. All lights work. Brakes and suspension are 100%. This is 100% a Time Capsule with only 20,543 miles. ORIGINAL miles. A/C works. Heat works. Smells GREAT. The interior is clean and plush (carpets, headliner and seats). All plastics and interior components are 100%. The car has all new fluids. Has new Cam belts (IMPORTED FROM GERMANY) has new tires (I will include OEM Pirellis). Comes with a trunk load of extra spares and filters. Also comes with factory Window stickers, factory warranty books tools, logs, plaques. It also comes with books and literature from importing dealer. 2 sets of keys. Comes with car cover, and build sheet.
~ Interior: The seats are CLEAN; and are in excellent condition. The interior is BEAUTIFUL. All buttons and all functions are working properly! No broken missing or damaged parts. All gauges work as they should, Heat and A/C work 100%. Carpets are plush and of proper color, same as seats no sun damage, car sat in a climate controlled garage, and it shows.
~ Stereo System: Works great, primitive in sound as expected. In the trunk are CB Radios (audi) and some extra electronic devices that appear to be radios or radio head units from the 80’s stereo works!
~ Engine: 2.2L Fuel Injected inline 5 cylinder. Has new Cam belts (REPLACED IT TO BE SAFE) new fluids. The car has been maintained despite barely being driven in 45 years. Runs GREAT. Smooth, quiet.
Original Timing belt included with car. Has all new fluids. All gauges work. All vacuum lines checked and all parts that could wear or corrode have been also checked. Starts right up. Drives NICE. plenty of power for its age and time period.
~ Transmission: AUTOMATIC 3 speed! All gears shift smoothly and properly. Fluid is clean. No issues anywhere shifts very well.
~ Suspension: it is in excellent shape. No noises. No issues. Tight and firm, all suspension is as it needs to be and does not require any service. Shocks are functional and proper.
~ Brakes: Excellent condition all around.
~ BODY: Clean! The body is straight and true. It has no dents, no damage. Lights are clean and clear. ALL WORK. Original Paint. Amazing condition to all plastic and metal parts, no damage or issues with gaskets or weather stripping. Everything is tight as it should be from factory
~ TIRES are NEW. 13’s. I am including the ORIGINAL Pirellis from factory. (took them off due to age)
~ Undercarriage: CLEAN! No rust no issues…. Garaged in climate controlled environment… NO rust or wear. Looks new to me. I doubt this car saw inclement weather.
~ FULLY DOCUMENTED: Comes with original books, owners manuals, original factory build plate, original dealer paperwork. Some misc receipts and loads of information.
