1969 Alfa Romeo Spider 1750
Vehicle Description
My love affair with Alfa Romeos is ending. I have owned three, and this one is by far the best. The car is original, including the SPICA fuel injection system. The improvements completed over the 25 years I have owned it are too numerous to mention. Among them, new soft top, new interior (except for the seats), new brakes, refurbished fuel tank, new electrical wiring, new paint in the engine bay, trunk compartment, and the dashboard. The TA has been replaced and adjusted, it has new engine mounts, new starter, new fuel lines.
The color is Verde Muschio (Moss Green) (AR227) with black convertible top. Black interior with Sierra (tan) vinyl upholstery. Five-speed manual transmission. Chassis number is AR1480465. Wood-rimmed steering wheel, 140 mph speedometer and 8000 rpm tachometer with center-mounted fuel, oil, and temperature gauges. Nitro Radial NT-260 P205/60R14 tires. It has 88,948 miles and it was always garaged while I owned it. Clean title, no lien. Title transfer and payment will be managed through Secure Purchase.
It is mechanically sound. The last person to work on the car was the legendary Keith Goring of Alfas Unlimited in Norfolk, Connecticut. The car has some paint imperfections up front and chips on rear edges of doors, bubbled paint on passenger rear fender, surface rust on inside of fuel filler compartment, nicks on wheels and red paint worn off the Alfa Romeo center caps, Alfa Romeo and Inezione badges have peeled off the trunk, puncture on top of driver’s seat, light surface rust on wiper switch plate and seat brackets, nicks on temperature controls and the inside of glove box is worn, 2 steering wheel buttons do not activate horn.
Additional items include spare tire and jack, original wheels, numerous spare parts, service records (including some from previous owners), two old radios (one that came with the car and a similar model I purchased as a replacement, do not know if they work), manuals and books, including the complete part number manual with part numbers.
I am selling it because a medical condition has limited my ability to drive. It has been a joy to drive, and anywhere I go people start asking questions and taking pictures. I am hoping to find a new owner who is enthusiastic and involved in taking care of this beauty.
Feel free to ask questions.
